I am in the process of redoing my entire site. As I get the content prepared, I will upload it. I took my old site down as my trimming and philosphies have changed quite a bit since I started. My pictures were really old and do not reflect my trim style. My knowledge has also grown so I want to reflect that via my site. Please bear with me as I make these changes, a lot is going on right now, with the DVD getting ready for release, creating sites, Volunteering a lot of my time with the American Hoof Association.
So new stuff coming is what my long winded sentences above were trying to say!
My name is Kim Cassidy, I’m a Farrier and Clicker Trainer located in Chester, NY.
I started this site to advertise my services and as an educational tool for those interested in hoofcare and clicker training.
The primary focus of this website is hoofcare. Most of the photos and articles will focus on healthy hooves (bare or shod).
My other passion is Clicker Training and it has influenced how I trim, how I interact with the horses and even how I interact with everyone in my life. I love what Clicker Training has done for my horses, it has given them the ability to always have an opinion, they are my partners, not my soldiers.
My philosophy of hoofcare is on a physiologically healthy foot, whether I’m leaving the horse bare, shoeing, using boots or casts. You can not have healthy hooves unless you have a healthy horse. So my farrier work encompasses the Whole Horse. Diet, saddle fit, dentistry and body work are of equal importance to my work. I don’t do this work myself but am able to recognize issues and provide recommendations to reliable professionals in our area.
My area of service covers Southern NY, Long Island and Northern NJ. I also take appointments at my farm.
June 19, 2009 - ALERT ALERT WARNING....
This is a courtesy alert warning to the folks who live in my service area. The GRASS is dangerous right now. 2 weeks of rain rain and more rain along with sunny afternoons is creating grass that is causing laminitis. I've received five emergency calls this week about horses in acute laminitic attacks. Dry lot those horses, and use muzzles, don't take any chances. Here is a no nonsense article from Katy Watts that I'm handing out to all my customers.
News April 2009
Sole Sister Productions (Paige, Ruth and I) will be releasing the our first DVD in the Trimming From the Top series in the very near future. Check back frequently for release dates
I'm in the process of redoing my entire website, due to both technology and my knowledge expansion. I've taken a lot of material down, but will replace it slowly but in a better way. Thanks for your patience.
